DEATH REGISTRATION

Registration of marriage celebrated abroad.

 

Requirements:

 

  1. Copy of the identity document of the person making the declaration.

  2. Original death certificate issued by the corresponding authority of the country of origin, translated into Spanish, notarized and legalized.

  3. Complete the Death Declaration Form at the consular office.

 

Cost: The procedure has no administrative costs. The user must make a deposit of $100 in cash at the consulate, corresponding to the payment of the courier in order to send the documentation to the Civil Registry in Costa Rica.

 

Approximate duration: 3 months if registered at the consulate. 15 working days at the Civil Registry in Costa Rica.
