Registration of marriage celebrated abroad.

 

Requirements:

 

1. Valid identity document of both parties.

2. Original marriage certificate issued by the corresponding authority of the country of origin, translated into Spanish, notarized and legalized.

3. Complete the Marriage Registration Form at the consular office.

 

Cost: The procedure has no administrative costs. The user must make a deposit of $100 in cash at the consulate, corresponding to the payment of the courier in order to send the documentation to the Civil Registry in Costa Rica.

 

Approximate duration: 3 months if registered at the consulate. From 22 to 65 working days at the Civil Registry in Costa Rica.
